SKU: OBD-FCA-CABLE
Regular price $28.99

All Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) vehicles manufactured after 2018 are equipped with a Security Gateway (SGW) module, which protects the vehicle's network from potential threats via the CAN bus. Simply connecting to the OBD II-16 connector may not enable communication with these vehicles. To bypass this restriction, use the FCA 12 + 8 cable, which connects to both the 12PIN and 8PIN connectors on the vehicle. This cable ensures proper communication, overcoming the SGW module's limitations.

Background Information:

All 2018 and newer FCA (Fiat, Chrysler, Alfa Romeo) vehicles are equipped with the SGW (Security Gateway Module). This module is designed to block access to the vehicle through the OBD2 port when using non-original diagnostic tools. Its primary function is to protect the vehicle’s network from potential security threats via the CAN bus.

Using the FCA 12+8 Cable:

  1. Locate and unplug the 12-pin and 8-pin connectors from the SGW module.

  2. Connect the FCA 12+8 cable directly to the 12-pin and 8-pin connectors.

  3. Once connected, normal communication with the vehicle can be established.
